I can no longer stay with you.
We must hang our harps, on a weeping willow tree…
and may the world go well with thee!
All good things must come to an end and, as I am forever repeating to my patient mediaiton clients, every end is a new beginning. So, with thanks to Rudy Vallee (and the Brother’s Four version of “the Tavern Song” I keep in my head, not to date myself at all) I am ending my time with you here in Massachusetts and finding my way north to Mid-coast Maine.
In September of 2018 we moved to mid-coast Maine, the home of our dreams, and Steven retired. For a time I continued to practice remotely, grouping my in-person meetings to minimize that commute. In February of 2019, the stress and strain of managing so many details remotely became too much and I made the difficult decision not to renew my lease for the Concord office. Effective March 31, 2019, Graham & Graham no longer has a physical presence in Massachusetts.
Packing up was bittersweet. Although we practiced in downtown Concord for just a few years, there were so many wonderful memories contained in that treehouse of an office. One of the great advantages of a (mostly) paperless practice is that client files do not require boxes or relocating but the same can’t be said of the stuff! We were shocked by just how much of it there was. Experiencing the transformation of the place, from a comfortable old friend and sanctuary into just another empty room gave us the opportunity to relive the journey, there and back again.
Thank you to all of our clients and colleagues who have supported us over the years. Our work with you has been a joy – and we will miss you.
Our former clients can continue to reach us by email or phone with any questions – the phone number will remain in service for an extended period of time for this purpose.
It has been an honor to serve you.
With gratitude,
Laura
