A Law Firm for the Way You Live Today

Who are we?

The world is no longer 9 - 5. Phones no longer hang on walls (or sit on desks), work happens in a thing called "the Cloud", even television as we know it has undergone a revolution. Your world and work life have changed, and we're right beside you. Paperless because we want to be, more responsive than ever because we can be, there are ways that this new technology has made all of our lives better - the trick is to find the right balance, to work smarter. And there are things we'll never let go of - our love for our community, the relationships we build with clients, and pride in our work.

We offer

Availability

We are your neighbors. One of the advantages of practicing in a small town is the ability to be true counselors at law. It is our privilege to take your call and to be of what service we can, whenever we can.

Free initial half hour consultation

Choosing the right mediator requires finding the right fit between all people participating in the process. To give you the best chance to find that good fit, the first half hour of your initial mediation session is free of charge.

Transparency

We don’t want you to wonder what something will cost. We’ve done our best to provide you with the tools you need to help you calculate the likely cost of any of our services. On this site you will find a detailed sliding fee scale for mediation services and tools to help you calculate the cost of purchasing or selling your home. For a specific quote, please call us or make use of our online tools.

Quotes we love

Vizzini: “Inconceivable!”

Inigo Montoya: “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

William Goldman, The Princess Bride

“Resolve to be honest at all events; and if in your own judgment you cannot be an honest lawyer, resolve to be honest without being a lawyer. Choose some other occupation, rather than one in the choosing of which you do, in advance, consent to be a knave.”

Abraham Lincoln The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler

Winona Hawkins: “You’re a little old to be fighting, aren’t you?”

Raylan Givens: “Certainly too old to be losing.”

WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT OUR COMPANY? CURIOUS ABOUT OUR STORY?

Our Story

Thank you to all of our clients and colleagues who have supported us over the years. Our work with you has been a joy. Effective March 31, 2019, Graham & Graham will be shutting down its office in Massachusetts.

In September of 2018 we moved to mid-coast Maine, the home of our dreams, and Steven Graham retired. For a time I continued to practice remotely. In February of 2019, the stress and strain of managing so many details remotely became too much and I made the difficult decision not to renew my lease for the Concord office.

Our former clients can continue to reach us by email or phone - the phone number will remain in service for an extended period of time for this purpose.

It has been an honor to serve you.

Thank you,

Laura B. Graham

Adieu

Adieu, Adieu my friends adieu…

I can no longer stay with you. We must hang our harps, on a weeping willow tree… and may the world go well with thee! All good things must come to an end and, as I am forever repeating to my patient mediaiton clients, every end is a new beginning. So, with thanks to Rudy Vallee (and the Brother’s Four version of “the Tavern Song” I keep in my head, not to date myself at […]

It’s time

I have some big shoes to fill. My partner has just announced his well-earned retirement and entrusted me with carrying on his tradition of client service and attention to detail. I am honored – and I look forward to working with his clients, embracing my now-public work as a real estate lawyer, while maintaining my mediation practice. That said, change can be scary. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly with any questions […]

The Week That Wasn’t

Photo by Kelly Sikkema on Unsplash It’s only a cold. For crying out loud it’s only a cold! I’ve gotten spoiled.  No longer exposed to young children swapping germs in school settings, no longer taking public transportation, I manage to side-step a good number of these things as they go around.  I can’t say for sure, but I suspect that being so out of practice has only made the experience worse. Aching where I did not know I […]
